Please send your comments on this helpless, useless and shameless cricketer(?)

Guys, just as we did our responsibility with RanjitFernandoSucks, we have to do the justice for the Sri Lankan cricket within our capacity and capability, just by being fans, . Because this our country, our cricket; we shouldn't let dumb asses like shameless Jehan Mubarak to spoil the game and it's future. We all know that money and bribes are the driving forces of Mubarak's inclusion into the national cricket team.

It's quite evident that Jehan Mubarak gets into the team, ahead of many young talented cricketers, not with real talent and a good record with the bat, instead with money and bribes. If you can recall the memory, Upul Tharanga was not given much opportunities during the tour of Australia in 2005-2006, until Mubarak ass proved that his batting is worst than Muralitharan's.

Sri Lankan's are cricket fans are so lucky that, finally Mubarak proved himself that's his good for nothing in terms as a batsman, so the Tharanga and Kapugedara came into action and proved far beyond what this crap could be.

so please do send your comments + stories + articles to xdoclet@yahoo.com or posted here under comments. i will keep things going.
thanks

Cricinfo cited the (bribed) selectors favoring Jehan Muba-harak
Tour of India - 2005 - December
The selectors - the Ashantha de Mel-led committee, that time - made the same blunder during Sri Lanka's last Asian tour, against Pakistan in November 2004, where Atapattu was forced to blood a youngster (ironically, Jehan Mubarak on that occasion too, which must have been incredibly hard for him too and hardly helpful for his career) against his will after Dilshan, the scorer of Test hundreds against England and Australia during the preceding 12 months, was unceremoniously axed without consultation.

Mubarak's inclusion is equally mystifying considering what is an appalling first-class record with just one hundred thus far in 120 innings. To his credit, he hung in doggedly for his 29 not out in the first innings. But you wonder what someone like Russel Arnold would have done in the same situation and you can't help but conclude that he could have absorbed the pressure better and turned things around, taking responsibility and relieving the lower order. We will never know, of course, because he is playing club cricket in Colombo.

Tour of New Zealand - 2006
Taken from Cricinfo
Mubarak, 24, included in place of Samaraweera, secured a place in the team despite a disappointing Test series against India with scores of 29 not out, 3, 13 and 18. His one-day record is also shaky with 68 runs at 9.71 in his seven previous matches.

But Mubarak's form thus far has not been compelling: 154 runs in the first three matches at 25.66 with a top score of 61. His performance during the Sri Lanka A tour of India was not entirely convincing either: 114 runs at 19 in the three unofficial Tests.

Arnold to lead Sri Lanka A
Sa'adi Thawfeeq - Cricinfo
May 27, 2005
Russel Arnold has been named captain of Sri Lanka A for the forthcoming series against West Indies A. He replaces Jehan Mubarak, who had a horrendous series with the bat against the A teams of England and Pakistan.

Lalith Kaluperuma, the chairman of selectors, said the selection committee felt that Mubarak should not be burdened with captaincy and that he should be allowed to concentrate on his batting. "We thought that captaincy was one of the reasons for his failure with the bat and decided to release him of the burden. Mubarak is a talented cricketer who has a future ahead of him as a national player. We want to give him every opportunity to get there." Mubarak averaged just 4.40 in the one-day triangular and 27.85 with one fifty in four unofficial Tests.

Back to the drawing board for Jehan
Sa'adi Thawfeeq - Cricinfo
June 29, 2005
It's back to the drawing board for young Jehan Mubarak for whom the world seems to have turned upside down. Only two months ago he was leading the Sri Lanka `A' team and was looked up as a future prospective cricketer for the senior side. But after a dismal failure in the first unofficial test against West Indies `A' at Rangiri Dambulla where he disappointed with scores of 17 and 15 he finds himself on the sidelines.

Based on these performances the selectors picked him for the tour of Pakistan where he appeared in the two Tests but failed to make any worthwhile contributions with the bat scoring just 49 runs in four innings with a top score of 34.

The selectors continued to persist with him and appointed him captain of Sri Lanka `A' for the home series against England `A' and Pakistan `A'. It was here that Mubarak's form began to decline. He was totally out of sorts and failed to make an impression in any of the `tests' or the one-day triangular except in the last `test' against Pakistan `A' at Dambulla where he scored a compact 80. His scores prior to that innings were: 10, 24, 11, 36, 0, 4, 0, 16, 2, 33, and 1.

The selectors thought the weight of captaincy was affecting his batting and removed him from that post for the series against West Indies `A' hoping that at least now he would deliver. But once again he failed.

To sum up his disappointing run he has not made a century since scoring 169 for CCC against Ragama CC in a Premier trophy match in November 2003. It also happens to be the only century Mubarak has scored in six years of first-class cricket.

"To me Mubarak looks tensed up and mentally not there," said chairman of selectors Lalith Kaluperuma. Kaluperuma said that since the time Mubarak played for Sri Lanka in the under 19 World Cup the selectors have been nursing and guiding him all along. "I don't thing any other cricketer has been given the amount of opportunities that Mubarak has. He has taken a long time to come out of his bad patch and there are others knocking on the door," said Kaluperuma.
